Hotels in Torremolinos

Torremolinos is a large coastal city that is situated just a few kilometres to the west of Malaga and so is easily and swiftly reached from Malaga airport. A former fishing village, the emergence of the package holiday in the 50s and 60s saw Torremolinos grow into one of the first foreign holiday resorts, targeted primarily at British tourists. Hence, much of the resort today can look a little worn in places, and certainly the demographic of tourists it attracts has shifted, but it retains its charm and wealth of attractions, offering something for everybody.

The resort’s beach is one of the widest and longest in the Costa del Sol, making it a firm family favourite throughout the summer. Backed by a number of good restaurants, this is a great place to spend a lazy day catching some sun and enjoying fresh seafood dishes and cool sangria. In the centre of town, the tight streets and pretty squares combine to create an inviting atmosphere, while street vendors, cafes and friendly bars vie for your attention at all times. Torremolinos is a perfect holiday destination in this respect: it knows what it is and what it does best, and sticks to it.

There are a number of attractions in Torremolinos that will delight holidaymakers of all ages. The waterpark is the largest on the coast and sits next door to Spain’s only Crocodile Park; the patrons in each are kept well segregated, of course. A number of parks add a flourish of green to the resort, and its accessibility, vibrancy and exceptional climate ensure its popularity will be enduring.
