The former fishing village of Rincon de la Victoria is now a thriving tourist resort thanks to its seafront location just 10km east of Malaga on the increasingly-popular Costa Tropical stretch of coastline. This being southern Spain, the climate is reliably appealing and the scenery suitably dramatic, with a beautiful mountainous backdrop and the sparkling Mediterranean visible for as far as the eye can see.
The area of Rincon de la Victoria has been settled since Roman times, but there is also evidence of prehistoric and Stone Age cultures dotted about. Perhaps they all saw what is evident to us still today – the exceptional beauty and climate of the region is conducive to a happy and healthy life. The beach is wonderful and backed by a sweeping promenade, while the centre of the resort has a number of attractions, including excellent restaurants and bars, while nearby, guests should visit the Las Cuevas del Tesoro (Arabian treasure caves) which are the only visible marine caves in Europe.
