The village of Frigiliana is located close to Nerja and approximately 50km east of Malaga on the Costa Tropical. Situated a few kilometres inland, Frigiliana boasts wonderful views of the surrounding scenery, particularly the dramatic HigueronRiver in the ChillarValley. Close by, the coastal town of Nerja is easily accessible and definitely worth a visit or two.
The makeup of Frigiliana is typically Andalusian: streets built for donkeys, not cars, are the order of the day here, where even the surest-footed 4x4 is no match for the steep hills and tight corners. Hence, the village is best explored on foot, which is the only way to appreciate its beauty, its friendly and peaceful ambience and its fine array of bodegas, tapas bars and restaurants. There are also a notable number of craft shops, selling locally-produced goods such as lace, linen, ceramics and basketware that are well-worth investigating.
